As HERA and MEDAK, we continue our efforts to increase the health literacy of displaced communities in Saçaklı neighborhood of Hatay’s Antakya district. Through the HERA Digital Health mobile app, we are organizing information sessions on maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health, and gender-based violence. With this work, we aim to facilitate access to health services for earthquake-affected individuals and support information-based decision-making processes.

We made presentations on HERA Mobile Health Application, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Hancağız Neighborhood of Defne District of Hatay.

We made presentations on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Gender-Based Violence in Yaylıca Neighborhood of Hatay’s Samandağ district. We also provided information about HERA Mobile Health Application. HERA is a multilingual mobile health platform that aims to improve preventive health services for pregnant women and children under the age of two.

We collaborated with the Hatay Dermaşta and Halisli Neighborhoods Social Assistance and Solidarity Association to talk with women living in the region about SRH, GBV, and our HERA Mobile Application. A severe earthquake that directly affected 10 provinces has occurred in Turkey. In response, our team quickly developed an online map that can be used by the disaster victims in the affected areas. Since the first day of the earthquake, The Development Workshop, MEDAK, and HERA have started field studies within the scope of cooperation focused on health and development to cooperate with different institutions and organizations, conduct short, medium, and long-term studies and develop projects on humanitarian aid, education, social and economic development, access to health services, and psycho-social support in the provinces and districts affected by the earthquake.
